King Danjong’s portrait kept at the big house where he had affection for a long time

In 1517 (the 12th year of the reign of King Jungjong), the shrine to the village deity was newly constructed into a shrine for cherish King Danjong. The wooden figure of King Danjong wearing a royal robe was placed there but it got lost. The portrait of the deceased kept there today was drawn by Unbo Ki Chang Kim. It shows a picture of Ik Han Chu giving a basket filled with Korean wild grapes to King Danjong on a white horse with both hands. At Yeongmojeon, the Gisinjae, or a memorial ceremony, is held on October 24 in memory of King Danjong.
